An innovative language platform used by over two million students
Created by media and gaming experts in collaboration with teachers and cognitive science experts, Lingua Attack's web platform and mobile apps innovate in foreign language learning with an entertaining and effective pedagogy. The exercises combine video and gaming in a lively and engaging experience designed for short daily sessions.
Over a million learners have used Lingua Attack with hundreds of schools, universities, training institutions and government organisations using the service in France and around the world.
Educational content
Creative and effective language pedagogy
Whether self-paced or supervised by a teacher/coach, Lingua Attack’s pedagogy is based on motivating the learner. Using a variety of videos and authentic gamified experiences in short formats, Lingua Attack is a unique language platform that engages learners of all levels over time to make real progress.
Video Boosters
Lingua Attack offers thousands of authentic video exercises, or “Video Boosters,” to immerse yourself in a foreign language environment.
With Video Boosters, we learn languages as they are normally spoken through exercises based on excerpts from movies, songs, TV news or documentaries.
Using a video of approximately 2 minutes in length, learners practice 8 language activities of increasing difficulty. The educational activities cover a number of skills: speaking comprehension, writing comprehension, vocabulary and grammar.
Synced with news, as well as movie and series premieres, new Video Boosters are published several times a week.
Photo Vocabs
Boosting your vocabulary is essential when learning a foreign language and with Photo Vocabs, Lingua Attack turns vocabulary acquisition into a fun and effective experience.
Photo Vocab is an interactive visual dictionary containing 16 words or expressions that learners discover and practice through a series of exercises, including pronunciation and games to optimize long-term vocabulary retention.
With over 250 visual dictionaries and 4,000 idioms in each language, Photo Vocabs covers most topics: real life, ecology, politics, entertainment, transportation, health, cuisine, travel, business…
Starter Labs
With Lingua Attack's Starter Labs, beginners get the basics of a new language with a 20-episode animated series.
To better guide beginners taking their first steps with the language, Starter Lab episodes are unlocked sequentially in a linear path that gradually introduces vocabulary and simple grammar forms into real-life situations.
To facilitate understanding conversations and create essential language connections, Starter Labs uses translation more than any other activity on the Lingua Attack platform.
Skill Boosters and the Business Path
With exercises based on educational videos, Skill Boosters exposes learners to the most common language situations in everyday life and in professional fields.
Videos produced with local YouTubers bring humor and authenticity to the activity. Students demonstrate their proficiency in the practiced situation through a badge system.
Lingua Attack also offers an industry-specific approach to languages with corporate tracks. These courses include exercises specifically created to support language acquisition for a particular profession, and learners unlock a certificate upon achieving a minimum score. New tracks can be created to meet specific needs.
Check reviews
Lingua Attack's proficiency tests assess language skills in less than 20 minutes. The test assesses the learner's level on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) scale: from A1 to C2.
Students will find their test results on their personal page and can print or download their certificates.
Students can also study for language certificates and take practice tests.
Proficiency tests are available for all 6 languages of the platform.
Tutoring Platform
Lingua Attack can be set up for learning under the supervision of a teacher or instructor.
For this blended learning approach, teachers have full tools to manage their groups, create tasks, assign tasks, schedule proficiency tests, etc. In a separate space, teachers can refer to the activities and scores of their groups and students. Detailed reports with all results and usage statistics for a specified period of time can be downloaded.
In autonomous mode, students are guided through learning with automated challenges that are delivered regularly.
Language
7 languages include FLE
All types of Lingua Attack educational content are available in each of the platform's 7 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and Chinese.
For each target language, learners around the world can access the service with the interface and translations available in more than 26 languages*.
Lingua Attack also focuses on pedagogical innovation in other languages and is developing a proposal for regional languages (Alsatian is already available) and sign languages.
